Wrapping Taħżiż 5 up with a scroll!

The curtains were finally drawn on Taħżiż 5 during an event that was held at Studio Solipsis last Saturday. Taħżiż is a creative writing programme that forms part of Aġenzija Żgħażagħ’s Empowerment Programme and is managed in collaboration with Għaqda tal-Malti Universita, the youth organisation entrusted for the past 5 years for its running and creative content.

This edition's participants were Mireille Borg, Rowena Calleja, Chris Cini, Krystle Kri, Angele Haber, Rachela Gauci, Darren Sammut, Rachelle Deguara and Gabriel Pace.
All were present for this final ceremony where they read short excerpts from the work they produced during this year-long writing programme that saw them meet for workshops and live-ins to explore different writing techniques, to increase their skills and also to learn how to present their work in public.

Certificates of participation were presented to all the participants. Taħżiż 5 came to an end with the launch of the 6th edition of Taħżiż and the presentation of the publication with the collective works of all those who took part in this programme.

To continue challenging the notion that the end product of writing does not necessarily have to be a book, this time the organisers of Taħżiż 5 came up with the idea of printing the works on 10 posters that were rolled and presented to all those present as a token in the form of a scroll.
