€626 raised for Puttinu by AZ@K

Aġenzija Żgħażagħ is always on the forefront of providing opportunities to young people. Thanks to these opportunities, a number of skills are being invested in young people which leads to active participation within the community.

Through its service in Kottonera, young people are being reached from the Verdala Senior School Bormla, Middleschool Bormla, Youth Cafe in Birgu and Detached Youth Work in Cottonera and Fgura.

Young people expressed their desire to organise an activity in aid of Puttinu Cares. As a group of young people, they always participate in the Marathons organised and are also present in Istrina. Through brainstorming sessions carried out with the Youth Workers, they came up with a Pool Marathon, including a BBQ and Eurovision Night.

The Pool Marathon was held from the 11th of May at 19:00 till the 12th of May till 00:00 at Fortini, Birgu. On the 11th May there was the Pool Marathon that lasted till the following evening while on the 12th the BBQ and Eurovision Night were organised.

What is inspiring is the fact that the young people came up with the ideas, developed it, assigned roles and with the support of the Youth Workers, they managed to organised it raising a great sum of €626 in aid of Puttinu. Throughout the service offered by Aġenzija Żgħażagħ within Kottonera, a fruitful investment is being done in the young people while giving them the opportunity to realise their potential.
