CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS Youth Exchange | EYCA Cardholder Meet-ups

About the Youth Exchange

The “Cardholder Meet-ups” are organised by the European Youth Card Association (EYCA) in partnership with MOBIN. The meet-ups aim to provide European Youth Cardholders the opportunity to experience European values through travelling, meeting young people from other countries, debating and learning more about how the EU works. Last but not least, participants will be able to meet decision makers and engage directly with candidates for the European Parliament.


Participants will be invited to engage in discussions regarding European Institutions, identity and values. In addition, they will act as multipliers and contribute to #GiveAVote – the Youth Activation Campaign run by the European Youth Card Association and 12 partner organisations across Europe.


For this Youth Exchange, 5 European Youth Cardholders from Croatia, France, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, Poland & Portugal will be selected to travel to Slovenia and take part in this 5-day youth exchange.


Profile of the participants

·         Aged 18-31

·         Have the motivation to learn more about Europe and its institutions. Plus, participants must be eager to act as multipliers to promote the youth vote at the upcoming EU elections

·         Can work and communicate in English

·         Priority will be given to young people with no previous experience in youth exchanges or training events

·         Priority will be given to young people coming from disadvantaged social, economic, geographical or cultural backgrounds

·         Be able to attend the full duration of the event

·         Must by no means be affiliated with any political party.


What’s in it for you?

·         You will be trained in how to effectively use social media channels and be part of a youth-led movement around participation and the importance of voting in the EU elections 2019

·         You will learn more about what are the benefits of belonging to the European community

·         You will gain skills and knowledge with regard to EU institutions, decision making processes, the role of the European Parliament and importance of voting in elections

·         Hands-on experience in promoting voting in your community

·         By the end of the event, you will receive a YouthPass certificate that will look great on your CV!


Reimbursements and Fees

Full board accommodation and meals will be provided by the European Youth Card Association. However, participants will be asked to book their own transportation to reach Slovenia. The costs of the transportation will be reimbursed by EYCA up to (please see table below).
