Youth Specialisation Studies Scheme ( YSSS) 2019 are open

Applications for the Youth Specialisation Study Scheme (YSSS) are now open for students aged between 18 and 30 years who would like to pursue their studies abroad, including post-graduate and distance learning courses.

The YSSS is a loan at a subsidised interest rate jointly offered by Aġenzija Żgħażagħ and APS bank. It grants each borrower up to €30,000 and is repayable over a maximum of 10 years. It provides 100% financing for first degrees, post-graduate degrees and distance learning courses, especially ones focusing on aerospace, veterinary studies, health and biotechnology, emerging technologies, youth work, specialised restoration, agriculture & marine studies, sport, nature conservation and the arts.

Additional features of this subsidised loan include a repayment holiday of up to five years, free travel insurance and a free VISA Debit card for the first year of studies.

To apply for the YSSS loan, students will need to present the following documents:

·         Application form

·         Motivation letter indicating how this academic course will benefit your future career plans and its strategic relevance at a national level

·         Europass CV

·         Scanned copies of qualifications

·         Course curriculum

·         Letter of acceptance from the relevant institute or university

·         Letter of reference on applicant’s character and integrity

·         Copy of applicant’s ID card (and spouse’s if applicable)

·         Budget planner

In the event that a loan is granted, successful applicants are obliged to provide the Bank with a life insurance cover for the whole duration of the loan.

Applications for this scheme are to be submitted by email to or by post to Aġenzija Żgħażagħ, Triq il-Kbira San Ġużepp, Santa Venera SVR 1013 by not later than noon of Friday 14th June 2019.
